These are the rules of octopawn:
Players make alternating moves. In the beginning the first players moves twice. The second move may not cancel the effect of the first.
A piece may be moved in one of the eight directions by one field.
There may be up to two pieces of one color on a field.
If a piece is moved onto a field containing a piece of the opponent's, this piece is captured. It is not possible to capture two pieces at once.
If a piece reaches the remote corner, it is removed from the board.
A player has won if he has reached the remote corner with at least one piece and he has no pieces on the board anymore.
A player has lost if he hasn't reached the remote corner with any piece and he has no pieces on the board anymore.
If a piece captures another piece on the remote corner, the capture is done first (including a possible win or loss for the opponent), then the move.
