Octopawn is a simple board game I invented around 1987. I intended to design a game that a computer could learn to play well, though it shouldn't be as trivial as Tic-Tac-Toe.
The name means "eight pawns", it can be played on a chess board with parts of the board covered, using four chess pawns for each player.
There are the rules, an online copy of this documentation and a demo implementation on the download page.
